Testimonials of Our Impact Working 1:1 and in Groups at Community Public Schools

Longwood Elementary School

Grow Wellness has been an incredible partner in supporting the social and behavioral growth of our students at Longwood Elementary School in IPSD 204. Through the leadership and dedication of Jenille Gunter-Harlan, our staff has been able to build a truly tiered approach to social skill development for our K–5 students, much like the layered supports we provide in math and reading.

Because of this partnership, we have seen stronger relationships between students and staff, improved behaviors that positively support our learning environment, and greater confidence from families who recognize that we focus not simply on punishment, but on helping children develop the skills needed to successfully navigate challenges both in school and in life.

We are grateful for the continued support of Grow Wellness and look forward to strengthening this partnership as we continue building the social and emotional skills of our students.

-Micheal Zeman, Principal

Granger Middle School

Tiffany has done such an amazing job connecting with each of her clients here at Granger. One of her client's would ALWAYS come up to me on Wednesday mornings and ask "is Miss Tiffany going to be here today?" just to make sure she wouldn't miss a session. In addition to individual clients, Tiffany also ran several groups this year including an attendance group and an executive functioning skills group. Both groups were heavily focused on skills and each student looked forward to it every week. Tiffany has been an invaluable asset to our team this year and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Grow Wellness.

-Anna Themanson, School Counselor

Fischer Middle School

At Fischer Middle School, the partnership with Grow Wellness has had a significant and positive impact on our students. The individualized counseling sessions have provided students with a safe, consistent space to process emotions, develop coping strategies, and build confidence both socially and academically. In addition, the executive functioning groups have equipped students with critical organizational, time management, and self-regulation skills that directly support success in the classroom. We have seen growth in students’ ability to stay engaged, advocate for themselves, and apply strategies that improve both behavior and academic performance.

The support provided through Grow Wellness fills an essential need within our school community and has become an invaluable layer of intervention and student support at Fischer. These services not only benefit the individual students participating, but also contribute to a stronger overall school environment by helping students feel connected, supported, and prepared for success. Continuing this partnership is critical to maintaining the progress we have seen and ensuring that our students continue to have access to the social-emotional and executive functioning support they need to thrive.

-Courtney DiFore, Assistant Principal

Metea Valley High School

Jenille is amazing for so many reasons.  From day one, she worked very hard to learn names, stories, and meet with each and every individual child.  Moving forward, I would send Jenille an email the morning of her visit to fill her in on specific needs based on where each kiddo was at.  I can attest that each and every student I had in my two PASS classes felt extremely comfortable speaking with Jenille and articulating their needs.  Kids wanted to meet with her and were excited to see her each week.  In addition, Jenille would jump into a lesson and help facilitate; she was seen as a trusted teacher in the room, and her presence, support, and guidance was extremely valued and appreciated.  I absolutely loved working with Jenille!

Our Spotlight Moment

Growing Mental Health Support for All

The Grow Wellness Foundation is featured in a recent NCTV17 Spotlight segment, highlighting our mission to expand community mental wellness support within the Naperville community and surrounding areas. As a Naperville-based nonprofit, we are dedicated to breaking down barriers to mental health care, including stigma, accessibility challenges, and the integration of mental health services into primary care. We firmly believe that access to mental health is a right for all, not a privilege.

In the past year alone, we have provided individual therapy hours for 117 clients across DuPage, Kendall, and Kane Counties, including residents of Naperville, Aurora, Downers Grove, Lombard, Warrenville, Wheaton, Joliet, Lisle, Bolingbrook, and Woodridge. Our on-site therapy services in Naperville cater to individuals aged 12 and above, addressing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and multicultural concerns.

Additionally, we have provided on-site therapeutic services, including individual therapy sessions and therapy groups, for over 200 high school and middle school students in Aurora and Naperville. Our community partnerships extend to organizations like Little Friends, Max’s Mission, and North Central College, furthering our reach and impact.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on expanding our services across Naperville and neighboring communities. Our goals include increasing one-on-one therapy offerings, expanding programming in community schools, and enhancing strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations. Through coordinated and comprehensive mental wellness resources, events, and knowledge sharing, we strive to identify and address key community mental health challenges, including the establishment of smart recovery support groups.

Thank you to NCTV17 for helping us share our mission—and thank you to our community for making it possible through continued support.
